Here are a few tips you should do to make sure your vinyl is on your bottle for the long run.
The glass is clean and dry before you start installation. Glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol both work great.
Use a credit card or something similar to go over the front and back of your vinyl to make sure it’s stuck to the transfer paper. I’ve already done this before I ship it to you, but it never hurts to do it again!
Peel the transfer paper off slowly and make sure all the vinyl design sticks to the transfer paper. I like to use a rolling motion and find it works best if you put the transfer paper face down on a table and slowly roll back the backing paper.
Place the design on the bottle, and use your credit card and smooth the design on the bottle starting from the middle out and making sure there are no bubbles in the vinyl.
When you’re sure the vinyl is secure to the bottle, slowly roll back the transfer tape. Go slowly in case some of the vinyl comes off you can press it back down to the glass. I like to go over all the vinyl with my nails after to make sure it’s stuck.
I would avoid washing your vinyl for 24 hours and really give it time to adhere.
Note
Transfer Paper has a red grid on top. For more intricate designs, like lettering or designs with thin lines, I will put a layer of clear permanent vinyl on top of design to make it more durable. I want your design to be there for the long haul! Don’t try to peel off the clear layer of vinyl, it might ruin the thin design underneath! You don’t really need transfer paper if there is clear vinyl over the design. It can just go on like a regular sticker. I’ll include a piece of transfer paper in the envelope if you find that method easier, just follow the instructions in the video above. If this is confusing, please reach out to me and ask for clarification.
